Help Me Win Tickets to ‘Cesar Millan: Live in Manila’

Shameless plugging. Haha! I rarely join online contests, but here goes…

Music Management International is currently running the Cesar Millan “Coolest Dog” Photo Contest for a chance to win tickets to Cesar Millan: Live in Manila happening on April 29 at Eastwood Central Plaza.

If it’s not too much to ask, please vote for my furkids’ photo. 🙂 THANK YOU!

Thanks to my friend, Monika, for introducing me to this online contest. I promised her I’ll take her with me should I win the tickets! Hehe!

The Dog Whisperer Is Coming to Manila!

This is a dream-come-true for dog lovers like me!

Cesar Millan is set to come to Manila on April 29, 2014 and this one-day event will held at Eastwood Central in Quezon City.

I don’t care about what his bashers say or how hard they try to disprove his techniques. I’m still a Cesar Millan fan! Ever since I started watching The Dog Whisperer episodes on YouTube and reading his book Cesar Millan’s Short Guide to a Happy Dog, I’ve incorporated his style in training and raising my dogs, Austin and Timothy to be well-mannered, four-legged members of the family.

It would be awesome to see him in the flesh speak and share tips and tricks to his Filipino fans. I hope he brings Junior, Benson, Alfie, and the rest of his pack with him too!

Gift Voucher from Bow & Wow (and the dog treats I bought using it)

Last week, I received a P500 gift voucher from Bow & Wow for participating in their online survey. It couldn’t have come at a better time. My furkids Austin and Timothy are turning a month older this week and giving them a fresh batch of treats would be perfect. It’s also a great opportunity for me and my dogs to explore natural and organic products.

Bow & Wow Voucher

If you happen to have gotten this voucher as well and confused that the validity period indicated on the voucher is from October 17, 2013 to October 15, 2013, don’t worry. It is actually valid until October 31, 2013. The discount applies only to food items.

I dropped by their recently opened Eastwood outlet yesterday and did some shopping for the dogs.

Since it’s a rare occasion to avail of a huge discount, much thought were given to the items that went into my shopping basket. Things that I considered were tried-and-tested products, treats that give a variety of flavor and texture, and those that I couldn’t find in other pet stores.

And so I ended up taking these home:

Healthy Bones® Sweet Potato, Salmon & Apple Treats

Itty Bitty Buddy Biscuits and Oven Baked Buddy Biscuits

Zuke’s Mini Naturals

Merrick Ranger Rib Beef Jerky Bone

Breath-A-Licious Green Bones

Among these, the Buddy Biscuits are the only ones that my dogs have already tasted. The rest will practically be a new experience for them. I’m particularly interested in how the Merrick Ranger Rib Beef Jerky Bone would fare. Had I seen this in the grocery, I would think it’s for making beef stock. Looks really appetizing!

I’m not sure if my dogs sensed that I brought home a bunch of new treats for them, but it’s probably the reason why they were so restless and yappy last night. They will have to wait ’til mid-week!

New Canine Buddy, Austin

Meet my new canine buddy, Austin! He made his social media debut last Sunday through an Instagram photo I posted when I got home with him in tow.

I was thinking about getting a dog for quite some time. It’s been years since I lost Brooks, a Chinese Shar-Pei. The law of attraction must have worked on me. I wasn’t expecting to get one, but here he is! Austin is a Schnoodle – a cross between a Schnauzer and a Poodle. Schnoodles are not an officially recognized breed, but it’s a mix known to dog enthusiasts.

I named him after my favorite ukelele cover artist, Austin Flynn, whom I discovered on YouTube.

I didn’t have any difficulty introducing Austin to our Yellow Labrador, Mindy. It’s a relief they get along well. Labradors are friendly by nature anyway.

A bit shy on his first day with us, but he's now giddy and loves following people around

Expect to see more of Austin (and Mindy) in the coming blog posts, tweets and Instagram photos!
